Vitamin A Deficiency

Vitamin A deficiency makes your skin rough. Dr. CC Harris reported that it made the surface of bronchial tubes as well as the skin rough, which would finally develop to lung cancer.

Let's look at the almond in Bible which possesses much vitamin A. Almond was first brought to Egypt from Mesopotamia where the almond originally grew as one of Jacob's gift to Joseph in his peace move attempt. Almonds reached Egypt just in time to prepare Cleopatra's eye shadow which protected her eyes from the strong sunlight of desert. The almond as a food was also good for eyes because of its vitamin A-rich content.

Aaron's rod was made from the almond tree. The almond reached Canaan with the people of Israel. Almond trees bloom in Israel even now.

By the way the almond traveled from Greece to Germany, where it was called "Mandel". It was used to make a cream to treat skin diseases. It was also adopted as a term of a musical instrument, the mandolin, because it was like an almond nut in the shape. The two almond-shaped fortresses against infection, which are located deep in throat, the tonsils, were named "Mandel Druse". In France, it is called "amand", which is one of the important ingredients in recipes of bread and cookies. In China, almond gives a good flavor in "Kyonintofu", which is a typical Chinese agar-agar dessert.

In Japan, we translated German term "Mandel Druse" for tonsils, and learned how to cook French and Chinese almond desserts. We import almond from the USA and the amount of almond consumption by Japan is the 5th highest all over the world.

Pink flowers bloom from sweet almond tree and white flowers bloom from bitter one.

Now I would like to suggest some of the almond dishes which are good to protect your skin and keep you from lung cancer. How about almond curd in hot soup and spinach with almond dressing as an appetizer, deep fried pork cutlet with almond coating for adults and almond flavored hamburger for small kids, and Chinese agar-agar dessert "Kyonintofu"? For breakfast, how would you like almond bread in Marie Antoinette's style?

Oh, before meals, do not forget to say thanks to God who gave us almond.

Vegetarian

Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azauah (their Babylonian names were Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshack and Abed-nego, respectively) refused to have king's meat and they kept vegetarianism with only vegetables and water. As the result, "at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat." (Daniel: 1:15) They were not real vegetarians but they only decided not to defile themselves with the portion of the Babylonian king's meat and with the wine which he drank.

In Melbourne Olympic Game, Tsuyoshi Yamanaka from Japan who was considered most likely to win lost in the 1500 m free-style swimming race and Murray Rose from Australia won instead. Rose was a vegetarian. After all vegetable defeated meat in a long race which it was believed that swimmers needed much energy with meat. It seems to be true that vegetable has been superior to meat since Babylonian era.

By the way diet difference between vegetable and meat brings another definite and significant result in the incidence of cancer. Vegetarians in New York show lower incidence of cancer than ordinary New Yorkers. The incidence of lung cancer as well as those of breast cancer and colic cancer is lower. It is reported also in Japan that cancer does not occur in many people on diet with green and yellow vegetables.

"Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith." (Proverbs: 15:17) Flesh-eating animals seem to prefer fighting. I wonder if diet determines even one's personality. By the way are you a meat-eating or vegetable-eating person?

Tattooing

"My patient is tattooed," said a doctor in charge. On two dissecting tables cadavers with magnificent tattoo marks were laid. "I see both of them have tattoo marks." My patient is the one with Prajna." Indeed, I perceived Prajna staring at me. This Prajna seemed to be getting old with rather mild expression but it was surely Prajna. Tattooing is a technique to place in corium of cutis crystals including heavy metals such as verdigris, cobalt blue, chrome green, mercury sulfide, white powder, most of which are taken by phagocytic macrophages. Phagocytes are distributed around sebaceous glands and blood vessels. The macrophages having foreign bodies rarely move to lymph nodes nearby and usually stay there. This was why Prajna could keep staring at you in good shape. It was because the decrease of skin cells due to senility made wrinkles that the outline of Prajna image seemed a little dull on this patient.

In the Old Testament tattooing is prohibited. The Lord told, "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you." (Leviticus: 19:28) We do not know the reasons for the prohibition. We have been familiar with many cases in which tattooing caused allergic dermatitis and granulomatosis. There are many cases in which a pencil lead stuck in elementary school days remains there for some decades, which is considered to be a kind of the tattooing. In a case of sarcoidosis forming granulomas in the whole body granuloma appears around the pencil lead which was stuck in the past.

It is going to be a catastrophe if sarcoidosis occurs in a person with tattoo marks all over his body. Prajna will become a fat-faced woman. We wonder if the authors of the Bible knew it. Oh, yes, I'm sure they did.

Asbestos

Steve McQeen, one of the famous actors, died of pleural mesothelioma, a malignant pleural tumor, to which asbestos is closely related. In the movie shooting he was always surrounded by pistols, car brakes, warships or submarines in which asbestos was used. Asbestos appears in a Japanese old story "Taketori Monogatari". In the story Princess Kaguyahime ordered a minister to bring cloth which did not burn from . That was surely asbestos, although the cloth which was finally brought in the story was not asbestos because it burned easily.

A Greek word "ασβεστοσ" meaning "not disappear" somehow began to be used to mean "not burn". In Paul's First Letter to the Thessalonians there is a sentence "Do not quench the Holy Spirit". 1 Thessalonians 5:19 "σβεννυτε" was used for the word "quench", from which the word asbestos "ασβεστοσ" was born by the addition of negative α and some further letters. Asbestos which originally meant "unquenchable" or "not be quenched" came to mean material which was neither burned nor quenched, namely, asbestos in modern use. The word for the Holy Spirit was "πνευμα" meaning lung, which I referred to before. Therefore, this verse in the First Letter to the Thessalonians contains lung and asbestos and is just exactly a lection of asbestos lung.

Asbestos appears in two more places of the Bible. One is "the fire that never shall be quenched" in the Gospel of Mark (9:43) and the other is "our lamps are gone out" in the parable of the ten girls in the Gospel of Matthew (25:8).

By the way, there are still more actors who were particularly related to asbestos and died of lung cancer. Do you remember Gary Cooper? He was a heavy smoker and lung cancer never overlooked him. "Do not forsake me, oh, my cancer." He looked so elegant with a cigar in his mouth.

The cloud of sand in the West which contains the similar structure as the ones of asbestos seemed to help in the formation of lung cancer in Mr. Cooper. Combination of smoking and asbestos makes the incidence of lung cancer up to ten times more likely.

John Wayne also died of lung cancer. The sand in the desert of Nevada resembles asbestos. You can easily think of the scene in which stagecoaches blew up the cloud of sand which fluttered about around his nose. The cloud of sand was always fluttering about around his nose not only in the scenes of "Stagecoach" but also in the scenes of all his movies. The sand is silicate crystal and in structure resembles the particle which is stuck between the fibers of asbestos.

Asbestos fibers and the particles located among the fibers which enter from the nose finally reach the alveoli in spite of frantic efforts of ciliated cells and secretion cells to drive them out. In alveoli scavengers appear to eat such foreign materials which are called macrophages. They are very reliable cells showing enough to bite anything. They bite, stick to the asbestos fibers and get dead and stiffened, which are called asbestos body. In the lungs of people who handle asbestos there are tremendous amount of these asbestos bodies.

I was astonished to count asbestos bodies in a patient's asbestos lung and find out that there were 2724 bodies/sq.cm of them. It can be calculated that this patient had more than 100 million asbestos fibers in the lung. The asbestos particles in this patient are uncountable like the stars in the space. The small crystal components, which are eaten by the macrophages and carried into the tissues, are more dreadful than these asbestos fibers. You should notice that intra-alveolus space is considered to be still outside the body. Asbestos particles eaten by the macrophages can move to the pleural cavity, lymph nodes, further to the peritoneum and finally to the liver.

By the way, Mr. Norman thinks that the first living thing was born on apatite along the seashore because apatite absorbs amino acid. According to his theory, amino acid thus absorbed produced protein and a cell, which resulted in a life birth. As apatite consisting of calcium phosphate absorbs amino acid, asbestos particles absorb carcinogenic materials, which promotes the accumulation of highly-concentrated carcinogenic materials in the peripheral parts of the lung. This is how asbestos and lung cancer connect with each other.

It will explain easily why the carcinogenic materials which enter with breath inspiration cause malignant tumors even in the pleura outside the lung.
